Primary for this page

Autonomous optimization

Reads every RTU + cold-storage compressor. Adjusts setpoints continuously against weather + occupancy + utility tariff.

Technician copilot

Ops asks Claude or ChatGPT: 'which unit is drifting?' — gets a ranked list with the next action.

Warehouse & cold-storage HVAC

AI agents that watch every RTU, freezer, and zone — across every site.

Warehouse HVAC AI Agents continuously read your BMS, BACnet, and brand cloud telemetry so you catch cold-zone drift in minutes and cut multi-site energy spend 20–30%, without ripping out controls you already own.

Most warehouse portfolios run a mix of Carrier, Trane, Lennox, and Daikin rooftop units, with cold-storage zones tied to legacy refrigeration controllers. Visibility is fragmented: every brand has its own pane of glass, every site has its own oncall list, and exception reports usually arrive a day after product is at risk.

HVAC AI Agents normalize all of it into one read-only model of every site, then layer autonomous monitoring on top. The agent learns each unit's baseline over 7–14 days, flags drift before setpoints are missed, and writes back through approved channels — never bypassing your safety interlocks.

Deployment is non-invasive: the agent reads existing BMS points or brand-cloud APIs, runs in your cloud or ours, and integrates with the ticketing system your techs already use. No new hardware in the panel, no firmware swap, no vendor lock-in on top of the vendors you already have.

Where it pays off

Concrete scenarios from warehouse operations.

Three patterns we see repeatedly across distribution and cold-storage portfolios.

Multi-site DC operations director

80-site portfolio, 4 HVAC brands, no unified energy view. Each site's BMS reports separately; aggregating means a quarterly spreadsheet.

One dashboard ranks every site by kWh/sqft and flags the worst 5 each day. Energy team starts the week with a queue, not a search.

20–30% portfolio kWh reduction

Cold-storage facility manager

Freezer zone drifts 3°F over a weekend. Exception report arrives Monday — product has already been audited as compromised.

Agent detects drift within 15 minutes of baseline deviation, opens a ticket with the on-call refrigeration tech, and logs the event for the QA system.

Minutes to first alarm

Maintenance lead

Compressor failures hit without warning. Truck rolls, emergency rental units, overtime — every quarter, multiple sites.

Predictive baseline flags rising compressor head pressure 7+ days before failure. Replacement is scheduled, not emergency.

7+ days early warning

Energy procurement team

ESG and LL97 reports need normalized HVAC data per site. Current process: ask each site lead for last quarter's runtime logs.

Auto-generated reports pull from the same agent-normalized data. Audit-ready in a click.

FAQ

Warehouse HVAC AI — common questions.

  • How long until I see savings on my warehouse HVAC bill?

Most multi-site warehouse portfolios see a measurable bill reduction within the first full billing cycle after the agent goes live — typically 30 to 45 days. The first 7–14 days are baseline learning, during which the agent observes runtime, setpoints, and load patterns without writing back. After that, optimization is gradual: setpoint nudges, schedule tightening, and exception flagging compound month over month. Plan for a 20–30% designed reduction at the 6-month mark, with the first 5–10% visible inside the first cycle.

  • Will the agent work with my existing Carrier, Trane, Lennox, or Daikin units?

Yes. HVAC AI Agents read from your existing BMS over BACnet/IP or BACnet/MSTP, or from the brand cloud APIs (Carrier i-Vu, Trane Tracer SC, Daikin Open Protocol, Lennox CORE) where available. No firmware change, no controller replacement. If your portfolio is mixed-brand, the agent normalizes points across brands so a 'supply air temperature' means the same thing on a Carrier RTU as it does on a Daikin VRV. Coverage list and integration details are on our /coverage page.

  • Can it catch cold-storage temperature drift before product is at risk?

Yes — that's the highest-frequency use case for cold-storage clients. The agent baselines each zone's normal temperature band over 7–14 days, then watches for deviation in real time. Drift of more than 1°F outside the baseline triggers an alert within minutes, not on the next-day exception report. Alerts route to whichever ticketing or on-call system you already use (PagerDuty, ServiceNow, plain email, SMS), with the relevant zone, telemetry snapshot, and suspected root cause attached.

  • Does the agent ever write back to my BMS or only read?

Write-back is opt-in per site and per point. By default, the agent is read-only. When you enable write-back, you choose which points the agent may adjust (typically schedule, setpoint trim, economizer enable) and the agent always operates within your safety interlocks. Every write is logged with a reason, a before/after value, and a rollback path. If your BMS doesn't allow API write-back at all, the agent stays read-only and surfaces recommendations to your operators instead.

  • How is this different from the analytics module my BMS vendor sells?

Vendor analytics modules typically run on a single-brand fleet and surface dashboards. HVAC AI Agents run cross-brand, take action (within your gates), and ship with the integrations your existing systems need — ticketing, ESG/LL97 reporting, energy procurement feeds. The agent isn't a replacement for your BMS; it sits on top, reads what your BMS already exposes, and makes the data act on itself.

  • Do I need new hardware in my warehouse to deploy this?

No. The agent reads existing points from your BMS or brand cloud over the network. Deployment is a connection setup, not a physical install. If a site has air-gapped controls, we typically deploy a small read-only gateway appliance on that site's network, but most warehouses with modern BMS controllers don't need anything new in the panel.

  • What does a typical multi-site rollout look like?

Phase 1 is a 2-week pilot on 1–3 representative sites: connect telemetry, baseline, validate alert quality. Phase 2 is portfolio rollout, usually a site every 2–5 days depending on integration depth. Phase 3 is write-back enablement and ESG/compliance reporting wiring. Most 50–200 site portfolios are fully on the platform within 6–10 weeks. We have rollout playbooks for the common patterns (3PL, grocery DC, e-commerce fulfillment) — ask us for the one that matches your portfolio.

  • How do you bill — per site, per ton, per RTU?

Per site, with tiering by site count and average tonnage. There's no per-RTU or per-point metering. Pricing includes integration support, write-back rollout, and ESG/LL97 report generation for sites in covered jurisdictions. The first 1–3 site pilot is structured as a fixed-fee engagement; portfolio rollout moves to annual contract. Specific numbers depend on your portfolio shape — request a quote from the form below.
